how to donate

Fabrick Collective accepts donations of clean, excellent condition used children's clothing, any season, any brand, any size from newborn  to youth 16, from smoke-free homes.

Seven per cent of sales are in turn donated to the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa to furnish and decorate their transitional housing for women leaving incarceration so that it feels more like home. To date we have raised over $27 000!

Additional items we DO accept:
Kids' footwear, outerwear, costumes, sleep sacks, and blankets, high-quality baby gear in clean and excellent condition (such as diaper bags and stroller covers). We accept children's books and toys in excellent condition with all parts included.

Items we do NOT accept:
Adult clothing
Underwear and socks (unless they are unworn or in original packaging)
Safety items (e.g. walkers, high chairs, helmets, car seats, baby seats)
Potties

Items that cannot be sold will be donated if possible. We partner with local community organizations and clothing swap events to try to find a home for every item. We are grateful to a local sponsor to have a textile recycling box for items that are in unusable condition (check out Terracycle if you'd like to purchase one for your home or neighbourhood). However, this is expensive and we encourage you to properly dispose of unwearable clothes in the garbage if necessary, rather than passing them on to another organization. Ultimately, unwearable clothing donated to thrift stores will end up shipped overseas and become environmental pollution in another country.

How to donate
You can bring your donation to the shop at 70b Beech St, Tues-Thurs 10-5 and Fri-Sat 12-5. We also pick up donations in Ottawa/Gatineau on Sunday mornings. Schedule your contactless pick-up!

Thank you for finding out how to make a difference with your kids' outgrown clothes. Donors are the foundation of our social enterprise and we love you! 💞
